Bahrain to Host BWF Para Badminton World Championships 2026

The Badminton World Federation (BWF) can announce Bahrain as the next host of the BWF Para Badminton World Championships in 2026.

The successful bid was received from the Bahrain National Paralympic Committee (NPC) with the support of the Bahrain Badminton and Squash Federation.

The Bahrain NPC has hosted several Para sport events within the region including the Asian Youth Para Games 2021, and most recently the IPC General Assembly in 2023.

Later this month (21-26 May), Bahrain will stage the Bahrain Para Badminton International [Level 2], and from 10-15 December, the Bahrain Para Badminton International [Level 1].

It is the first time the BWF Para Badminton World Championships will be held in the Middle East.

The championships will be played in the capital Manama at the Bahrain Sports Federation for the Disabled.
