President
Poul-Erik Høyer was elected in May 2013 and is Chair of Council and the Executive Board. Poul-Erik was re-elected unopposed in 2017 and 2021 and is serving the current term until 2025.
An IOC Member from 2014 to 2022 and a member of the IOC Athletes’ Entourage Commission during that period, Poul-Erik Høyer is an Olympic Champion, the gold medallist in men’s singles at the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games.
Poul-Erik was a top international badminton player (1985-2000) and was athlete representative of the Danish National Olympic Committee from 2005 to 2013.
Poul-Erik was until his election as BWF President in May 2013, the President of Badminton Europe (2010- 2013). He was Deputy Chair of Badminton Denmark (2005-2010) and a board member of the International and Danish Players Federations. Poul-Erik was inducted into the Danish Sports Hall of Fame in 2010 and has held various positions in Denmark in the sports of football and handball.
On 22 April 2015, Poul-Erik was awarded the Order of the Dannebrog (knighthood) by Denmark’s Queen Margrethe II on the occasion of the 75th birthday honours.

Deputy President
KhunyingPatama Leeswadtrakul was elected to BWF Council in 2017 and Deputy President in 2019. She was re-elected unopposed as Deputy President in May 2021 and her current term is until 2025.
KhunyingPatama is a member of the International Olympic Committee (since 2017) - the first Thai woman to achieve that honour. She Chairs the Culture and Olympic Heritage Commission and is a member of the Olympic Solidarity Commission.
KhunyingPatama is an Executive Board Member of the Olympic Council of Asia and Executive Board Member of the National Olympic Committee of Thailand (since 2017) and President of the Badminton Association of Thailand (since 2013).
Khunying Patama has served in a wide range of positions in sport: Honorary Adviser of the Badminton Association of Thailand Under Royal Patronage of His Majesty the King (2008-2013); Team Manager, Badminton Thailand for Asian Games 2010 in Guangzhou; Team Manager, Badminton Thailand for the Olympic Games London 2012.
Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul also sits on the advisory board of a number of professional organizations and voluntary bodies. She is also a senior expert director of Thailand Institute of Justice and Member of National Reform Committee on Culture, Sports, Labour and Human Resources Development of Thailand.
KhunyingPatama is a successful businesswoman, a sports administrator with a deep passion for badminton. and a philanthropist.

Vice President Africa
Michel Bau was elected to Council in May 2018 as BWF Vice President Africa with the current term till 2023. Michel has been involved in sport and badminton for more than 25 years at an international, continental and national level. Michel was elected President of the Badminton Confederation of Africa (BCA) in May 2018 and has been a BCA Council member since 2002.
Michel Bau has been President of the Seychelles Badminton Association since 1994 and since 1995, Michel has been a member of the Seychelles Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association Executive Committee. He served as the Chef de Mission of the Seychelles delegation at three Olympic Games – Sydney 2000, Beijing 2008 and Rio 2016 and has served as Team Manager for the Seychelles Team at two Commonwealth Games – Melbourne 2006 and Delhi 2010.

Vice President - Asia
Jassem Kanso has been BWF Vice President Asia since 2019 having being elected to the BWF Council in 2013. Jassem served as Deputy Chair of the Development & Sport for All Committee (2013 – 2017) and is Chair of the Finance Committee (since 2021).
Jassem, who retired from a career as a professional basketball player after 12 years, has been actively involved in promoting badminton in Lebanon and West Asia for many years.
He served as the General-Secretary of the Lebanese Badminton Federation from 2008 – 2009 and since 2009, President of the Federation. He was also the Vice President for the Arab Badminton Association (2009-2013).
In 2019, he was elected as Vice President of Badminton Confederation of Asia. Driven by his passion for sports, he founded a private sports center in Lebanon which provides opportunities for young people to engage in team sports and physical activities.

View ProfileRichard Vaughan was elected BWF Vice President Europe in May 2023 for a four-year term to 2027.
Richard has a wide range of experience in badminton as a player, athletes commission representative, coach, director and CEO in a range of sports organisations. As a player, Richard was world number seven in men’s singles, winning European and Commonwealth Games bronze medals. Richard was the Chief Executive Officer for Badminton Ireland (2011 – 2015), a member of the British Olympic Associations Athlete Commission (2002 – 2008) and is a Non-Executive Director for Badminton Europe (2014 to present) where he has Chaired the Communication, Marketing and High-Performance Commissions.
Richard has multi-sport executive experience in a range of national federations. He was Chief Executive Officer for Squash Australia (2015 – 2021), Non-Executive Director for Equestrian Australia (2021 – present) and is currently the Performance Director for Artistic Swimming at Swimming Australia (2021 – present). Richard has an MA Coach Education and Development from Bath University, MBA from Leicester University, and is currently completing a PhD in Sport Governance from Canberra University. -

A Council member since 2013, Geraldine is BWF Vice President Oceania (since 2013) and the current term is until 2023.
Geraldine is President of Badminton Oceania (since 2005) and a board member of Badminton Australia where she has served for more than 15 years.
Geraldine has previously held a range of positions in various organization including being President of Badminton Australia (2008 – 2018), Vice President of the Australian Commonwealth Games Association (2015 - 2018). Geraldine served on the Australian Commonwealth Games Association board for 10 years before her election as Vice President in December 2014.
Geraldine served for many years on the BWF Women in Badminton Commission (2013 – 2021) and has been a member of the BWF Awards Commission since 2013. Geraldine is a strong advocate for equal opportunity for both women and men in all aspects of badminton.
A passionate badminton person, Geraldine has a long history with the sport as a player, coach and technical official. As a player she represented Australia five times and won national titles in women’s doubles as well as numerous titles at State level in Australia for Tasmania and Victoria.
Geraldine was conferred the Order of Australia Award in the Queen’s Birthday 2019 Honors’ List for her services to badminton.

Vice President - Pan Am
Vishwanauth (Vishu) was elected to Council in 2013 as BWF Vice President Pan Am and was re-elected in 2018 with a term to 2023. Since his election to Council, he has served as Chair of the Governance and Ethics Committee (formally the Administration Committee).
In 2007, Vishu became General Secretary of Badminton Pan Am Confederation and in 2015 he was elected President, a position which he has held to-date. In 2010 he was elected President of the Central America and Caribbean Badminton Confederation.
Vishu served first as Treasurer (2002 - 2004) and then President (2005 - 2013) of the Jamaica Badminton Association (JBA) and under his leadership, JBA successfully staged the 2011 Pan American Junior Badminton Championships in Kingston. Vishu was elected First Vice President of the Jamaica Olympic Association in 2013.

Vice President Para Badminton
Vice President Para Badminton since May 2011 and most recently re-elected unopposed in 2021. Paul has been actively involved in the governance and administration of Para badminton at an international level since 1996.
Paul was formerly the President of the Para-Badminton World Federation (2008-2011), before the integration of Para badminton into the governance structure of the BWF in June 2011.
Paul became a wheelchair Para badminton player in 1992 during the rehabilitation process following a paragliding accident and competed internationally in wheelchair Para badminton (1992-2006) gaining two wheelchair singles silver medals at the World Championships in 1998 and 2000. Paul was instrumental in establishing Wheelchair Badminton in Switzerland.
He was involved in the organization of many international tournaments, Continental and World Championships for Para Badminton and co-organised the first “combined” BWF World Championships in Basel and was responsible for Para events.

Elected to the Council in May 2021 for a four-year term to 2025, Zhang Jun has had an extraordinary career as a player and coach at the highest levels.
In 2019, Zhang Jun was elected President of the Chinese Badminton Association.
Zhang Jun is an Olympic Champion. As a doubles specialist he won many international men’s doubles titles including the mixed doubles gold medal at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games and Athens 2004 Olympic Games consecutively. He was World Champion six-times in men’s singles and mixed doubles.
Following his retirement as a player, Zhang Jun joined the Chinese Badminton National Team as a coach and in 2017, her was promoted as the Head Coach.
As a coach, he led his players to the podium for the men’s doubles and mixed doubles gold medal at the London 2012 Olympic Games and men’s doubles at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games as well as the Jakarta 2018 Asian Games men’s team gold medal.

David Cabello was elected to Council in 2009. The Chair of the Development and Sport for All Committee and BWF Executive Board member since 2009, David has been instrumental in driving the development of the sport through a wide range of initiatives including the Shuttle Time Schools Badminton programme, coach education and membership development.
A strong advocate for sustainable development and research in badminton, David initiated the BWFs research grants programme, and advocated for scientific studies to be undertaken to develop innovative equipment for outdoor badminton (AirBadminton).
David has a long association with the Spanish Badminton Federation holding a range of positions at different times – High Performance Director (1999 – 2001), Chief Executive (2001 – 2004) and President (2004 – 2020).
David was an Executive Committee Member for the Spanish Olympic Committee (2010-2017) and an Executive Committee member of FISU as FISU Assessor (2011-2015). He has had a long association with FISU and has been Technical Delegate (TD) for BWF at the Badminton World University Games in Ramaskoye (2016), Gwangju (2012), Taipei (2010). David was also TD for the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games and BWF TD Protocol for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
David is a Senior Lecturer in Sport Management at the Faculty of Sport Science at the University of Granada, has a PhD in Physical Education, Exercise and Sports Science from the University of Granada.

BWF Council and Executive Board member since 2009, Etienne Thobois was Chair of the Marketing and Communications Committee (2009 – 2013), Chair of IOC & International Relations Committee (2013-2017) and resumed the role of Chair of Marketing Committee on his re-election to Council in May 2017 and again on re-elected to Council in 2021. His current term is until 2025.
Etienne has been actively involved in badminton in various roles and levels of the sport for more than the last 25 years. A member of the French national team for almost ten years, he was three times National Champion, played four European and World Championships and represented France in badminton at the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.
Etienne has been President of the Association of the Francophone de Badminton since 2013 and was for many years from 1989, a board member of the French Badminton Federation. He was also advisor to the French NOC on international relations and Olympic affairs.
Etienne Thobois has held a wide range of positions in international sport, notably Etienne served as finance director of the 2003 IAAF World Championships, CEO of the 2007 Rugby World Cup held in France and technical expert for Tokyo 2020.
He was the CEO of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games Bid, a member of the IOC Evaluation Commission for the 2016 Olympic Games and a member of the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games Coordination team and
In 2017, Etienne Thobois was appointed CEO of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organizing Committee.

A Council member since 2009, Nigel was the Deputy Chair of the Development Committee (2009 – 2013), Chair of the Marketing Committee (2013 – 2017) and Chair of the Media and Communications Committee (2017 – 2021) and continued in this chair’s role following his re-election to Council in 2021.
Nigel has served on various BWF committees and commissions since being on Council, including Chair of the Development of the Indoor and Outdoor Shuttlecocks Projects. Nigel has a passion for the development, innovation and marketing of the sport. Nigel has a long history with the sport. He is a Deputy President of Badminton Oceania (BOC)(since 2015) and he has been an Executive Board member of BOC since 2009.
Nigel a Life Member of Badminton New Zealand (since 2010), a former President of Badminton New Zealand (2000 – 2007), Nigel has been a selector, team manager and a senior national player for New Zealand. As a player Nigel earned 14 New Zealand Junior titles, two Australian Junior Titles, and two New Zealand Open Titles.
He received the Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM) from the New Zealand government in 2019 in recognition of his services to Badminton.

Odette Assembe Engoulou

Elected to the Council in May 2021, Odette is a lawyer by profession and has served at the Airport Authority of Cameroon for several years. She is currently self-employed in various businesses and services and is also proprietor of an orphanage in Yaounde, the capital of Cameroon.
Odette is an active sports administration at national, continental and world level. She is President of the Badminton Federation of Cameroon (since 2012), Vice President of the Cameroon National Olympic and Sports Committee (since 2013), Chairperson of the Sport and Women Commission of the Association of National Olympic Committee of Africa (ANOC – since 2018), President of the Women’s Commission of the “Association Francophone de Badminton (since 2017) and Member of the Executive Board of Badminton Confederation of Africa (since 2015).
In 2019, Odette was elected as a member of the International Olympic Committee and in 2020 she was co-opted as a member of the IOC Public Affairs and Social Development Commission.

View ProfileGreysia Polii is an Olympic Champion in women’s doubles at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games with doubles partner Apriyani Rahayu. Greysia has also won three bronze medals at the World Championships, in 2015, 2018, and 2019.
Greysia was elected to the BWF Athletes’ Commission on 17 December 2021, and the Commission elected Greysia Chair of the Commission in early 2022. Greysia became a member of Council on 17 February 2022 following the announcement of her election as Chair of the Commission.
As Athletes’ Commission Chair, Greysia represents the views of the players and ensures that their voice is heard in Council on all matters affecting players. Greysia aims to assist players to achieve their dreams and to support their needs around competing on the international circuit through her work on the BWF Council.

Elected to the Council in 2009 and re-elected in 2013, 2017 and 2021, Nora Perry MBE was the Chair of the Women in Badminton Commission (2009 – 2015) and is currently Chair of the Awards Commission.
Nora is a former England badminton player and doubles specialist winning numerous major titles, with a variety of partners, from the mid-1970s to the mid-1980s including six All-England mixed doubles titles and two All-England women's doubles championship titles. Nora has 99 caps for England and won both the 1980 IBF World Championships and the 1980 European Championships in women's doubles with Jane Webster. And three years later, she won the 1983 IBF World Championships title in mixed doubles with Thomas Kihlstrom.
Nora was inducted into the IBF / BWF Hall of Fame in 1999 and was awarded an MBE by H.M. Queen Elizabeth II for her services to badminton. Nora is a strong advocate for equal opportunity for both women and men in all aspects of badminton.
Nora runs her own badminton academy for the development of players from complete beginners to Junior Level and is a mentor for new female coaches to encourage progression, confidence and development. She has held various roles in Badminton England Vice President.

Robbert de Kock

Deputy Chair – Finance Committee
Robbert was elected to the BWF Council in May 2017 and re-elected in 2021 with his term extending to May 2025. He has served on various BWF committees including the IOC and International Relations Committee as Deputy Chair (2017 – 2021) and the Marketing Committee. Robbert is currently Deputy Chair of the Finance Committee and Chair of the HR Commission.
A former player representing Switzerland and the Netherlands, Robbert has evolved to training and sports administration. He is the President of Swiss Badminton (since 2014) and a board member of Badminton Europe (since 2017) and the Association Francophone de Badminton (since 2017).
In 2019, Robbert was the Co-President of the Organizing Committee for the TOTAL BWF World Championships 2019 and TOTAL BWF Para Badminton Championships 2019 held in Basel, Switzerland – the first time the two World Championships (for badminton and for Para badminton) had been hosted at the same time and same venue.
In his professional life, Robbert has been very active within the Olympic movement and is the President and CEO of the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (since 2007). Robbert has been an active member in various international organisations including UNESCO and WHO and was President of the World Sports Forum (Events) since 2011.

Deputy Chair – Development and Sport for All Committee
Kinji Zeniya was elected to Council in May 2019 and re-elected in 2021 for a four year term to 2025. He is the Secretary General of Nippon Badminton Association (since 2015) and has been a Council Member of the Nippon Badminton Association since 2007.
A badminton administrator, elected official and team director, Kinji Zeniya has considerable experience in high performance. He was Japanese National Team Director from 2007 to 2014 and Team Manager of the National team on many occasions including the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.
A men’s singles player with seven national titles (1974 to 1984), Kinji won a number of international titles and was part of four Japanese Thomas Cup teams helping the team to win a bronze medal. He was also selected as a member of the Asian Games Japanese team three times.
Kinji is Chair of Corporate Sports Centre in Sanyo Electric / Panasonic Corporation, Front General Manager for the Panasonic Rugby and Badminton teams and has held various posts in for the Panasonic Corporation’s social contribution activities.

Richard has been a member of the Para Badminton Athletes’ Commission since 2013. He was first elected Chair of the Commission in 2013, re-elected as Chair in 2017 and was again re-elected for a new term as Chair till 2025. Richard has been a member of the BWF Council since July 2020, when the membership changed the constitution to include the Chair of the Commission so that the two athlete representatives are Council members – one for the badminton and one for the Para badminton athlete communities.
Richard has a long involvement in Para badminton as an administrator. He is President and founder of FRAP (France Para badminton) and he has been working in France with the French Badminton Federation to establish and develop a national team and structure for the sport. He was also a member of the Badminton Europe Para Commission (2014-2017).
As chair of the BWF Para Badminton Athletes’ Commission, Richard has put in place the athletes Facebook, organised player’s meetings, represented the BWF and Para badminton athletes at the IPC and represented athletes at the BWF Para Commission meetings and at a wide range of events.

Dato’ Kenny Goh Chee Keong was elected to Council in 2021. Kenny has been actively involved in sports since his school days, representing his home state of Pahang in badminton, athletics, softball and handball.
As a sports administrator, he has held the post of General Manager of the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) (2005-2015), Chief Operating Officer of Badminton Asia (2016-2019) and currently Kenny is the General Secretary of BAM and holding the portfolio of Chair of the Coaching and Training Committee.
During his tenure with the Badminton Association of Malaysia, Kenny has successfully organized several major tournaments including the BWF Thomas & Uber Cup Finals (2010), the BWF Sudirman Cup Finals (2013) and the BWF World Championships (2007).
For his contribution to the development of badminton in Malaysia, he was conferred the title of “Dato” by His Royal Highness the Sultan of Pahang in 2019.

Elected to the Council in May 2021, Rukhshona was a member of the Tajikistan national badminton team and at her peak, she won the women’s singles title at the national badminton championships for two consecutive years (2011 and 2012).
She is a strong advocate for equality in sport for boys and girls since her university days. After formally retiring as a player, she immersed herself in sports administration to develop and popularize the sport in Tajikistan.
Rukhshona is also passionate about gender equality and was the organizer of “YES, We Can”, a community-oriented project on women’s empowerment. She has also been actively involved in numerous projects over the last seven years.
Currently, she is the Administrative/Executive Coordinator at the Badminton Federation of Tajikistan in charge of strategic planning and development.

José Gabriel was elected to the Council in May 2021 and is serving a four-year term to May 2025.
A physical education teacher by profession, José Gabriel was actively involved in training and development of sports in Guatemala. He sat on the board of several districts’ school council and provided lectures on training to the Ministry of Culture & Sports Guatemala, Ministry of Education Guatemala, Autonomous Sports Confederation of Guatemala and the Guatemala National Olympics Committee.
José Gabriel was the former President of the Badminton Federation of Guatemala (2008 – 2015), Vice President of Badminton Pan Am Confederation (2011 to-date) and former President of the Central American and Caribbean Badminton Confederation (2014 – 2018).
He was the Deputy Chef de Mission of the Guatemalan delegation at several international events including the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games.

Elected to the Council in May 2021 for a four-year term to 2025, Ella Diehl is a former Russian international player selected to join the Russian national team in 1995. She won 14 national titles since 2009 and competed in the Sydney 2000 and Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. In 2010, she won the bronze medal at the European Championships and the gold medal at the European Team Circuit Finals.
From being a player, Ella moved on to coaching and had a stint as Head Coach for the senior teams at BV Wesel Rot-Weiss in Germany. She is also passionate about development of badminton for children and Para badminton for children with a disability.
Ella was a member of the Badminton Europe Women in Badminton Working Group (2012-2015), a member of Badminton Europe’s Gender Equity Commission (2016-2020), member of Badminton Europe’s High-Performance Commission (2016- 2020), Council member of the National Badminton Federation of Russia, Chair of the Russian Athletes Commission (2012 -2020) and member of the Russian Olympic Athletes’ Commission (2016-2020).

Elected to the Council in May 2021 for a four-year term to, Dr Sawsan is strong role model for women and girls in sport and in badminton.
She is a member of the Bahrain Football Association and the Women’s Committee in Asian Football Confederation (2004 – 2011) and the Elite Match Commissioner in the Asian Football Confederation since 2005.
Dr Sawsan also holds International Coaching Certificate Level 1, 2 and 3 in swimming from the International Swimming Federation (FINA) and a certified conductor in the National Management programme and National Coaching programme.
A strong advocate for youth affairs, Dr Sawsan has been actively involved in various youth and sports organisations at national level.
Dr Sawsan was elected as the President of the Bahrain Badminton and Squash Federation (since 2017), President of the Arab Badminton Federation (since 2018) and a Vice President of Badminton Asia (since 2019).

Elected to the Council in May 2021 for a four-year term to 2025, Dr Himanta is a lawyer by profession and was a practicing lawyer (1996 – 2001) before he found his calling in politics in 2001 when he was elected as a Member of Assam Legislative Assembly for four consecutive terms until 2015. During his tenure, he served in various Ministerial roles in the state of Assam.
Dr Himanta was elected as the President of Badminton Association of India in 2017. He is also a Vice President of Badminton Asia and a Member of the Indian Olympic Committee where he had a leadership role in framing National Sports Policy and advising the government of India in matters of Youths Affairs and Sports.
In 2016, Dr Himanta was sworn in as a cabinet minister and he is currently the Chief Minister of Assam and Chairman of the North East Democratic Alliance, a body comprising of eight North-East states of India.

Elected to the Council in May 2021 for a four-year term to 2025, Kim Jong Soo was born into a badminton family and has been a part of the Korean National Badminton team as a player, a coach and team manager for more than 30 years.
During his tenure as Team Manager (2001 - 2010) he led his team to the winner’s podium as gold medallist at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games and Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
He was the Chief Executive Director (2013 – 2015) and is the Vice President of Badminton Korea Association (2015 to-date) and Vice President of Badminton Asia since 2015.
An administrator, elected official and team coach and manager, Kim Jong Soo has considerable experience in high performance evidence in the success of the Korean team in international tournaments.
He is also passionate about development of badminton both in Korea and in less developed badminton playing countries in Asia through the support of badminton equipment.

Elected to the Council in May 2021 for a four-year term to 2025, Rudy Roedyanto is Deputy Chair of the Marketing Committee. An experienced administrator in badminton development and events management, Rudy has successfully raised the profile of the Indonesian World Tour 1000 to an iconic level and recognised as one of the best events in the series.
As the Events Director of the BWF World Championships and World Jr Championships, he has transformed the excitement of the sport not only to give a more vibrant experience to the players and spectators but had generated greater interests and sponsorships for badminton.
Rudy is the International Relations Director of Badminton Association of Indonesia (2012 to-date), Chair of Events in Badminton Asia (2015 to-date), Technical Delegate for Sea Games KL 2017 and for Badminton Events at the Asian Youth 2021 (Shantou) and Asian Games 2022 (Hangzhou)
He was appointed as the Deputy Sports Manager and the Disciplinary Manager for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.
Rudy has been Technical Delegate for many events including the SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur 2017 and the Venue Manager for the Asian Games Jakarta 2018, and the latest is his appointments as Badminton Technical Delegate for the Asian Youth Games 2021 and Asian Games 2022.

Elected to the Council in May 2021, Sven Serré is Deputy Chair of the BWF Events Committee.
Sven has had more than 25 years’ experience in badminton at the national, continental and world level. He is President of the Royal Belgium Badminton Federation (since 2016), Director of the Belgian Olympic and Inter-Federal Committee (since 2013), and a member of the Board of Directors of Badminton Europe (BEC) (since 2017).
Sven has had a long history with the technical side of the sport and has been a BWF Certificated Umpire since 2006, a Member of the BWF Technical Officials Commission (since 2019), Chair of the BEC Technical Officials Committee (since 2020), BEC Umpires Assessment Panel (since 2011) and BEC Umpire Coordinator (since 2016).

Elected to the Council in 2013 and re-elected in 2017 and 2021, Chipo was Deputy Chair of the Finance Committee (2013 – 2021) and has served on a range of other Committees including the Development and Sport for All Committee.
Chipo has been active in badminton for more than 15 years promoting the sport to young people in particular. She has a great love for the sport and also has a passion for increasing women’s participation in the sport locally, regionally and internationally.
She has been the President of the Badminton Association of Zimbabwe since 2010 and was elected as a Council Member of Badminton Confederation of Africa (BCA) in 2009 and has been Treasurer and Executive Board member since 2014. She was also chair the continental body’s Women in Badminton Commission (2012 – 2016).

Elected to the Council in May 2021 for a four-year term to 2025, Pilar Carrillo is Deputy Chair of the Para Badminton Committee. She was the Badminton Manager at Club Regatta Lima, one of the biggest recreational clubs in Lima (1995 – 2000) and Head of the Technical Unit at the Peruvian Badminton Association (2000 – 2006).
As the Chief Operating Officer of the Pan Am Badminton Confederation (2007 – 2020), Pilar built and led a solid management and operations team to assist and guide the members in the Pan Am region to develop the sport and to host world class tournaments.
The love for badminton runs deep in Pilar’s blood. Pilar’s involvement in badminton for more than 25 years speaks volume of her passion and love for the sport. With the encouragement of her parents, she started playing the sport from a very young age and she had passed the tradition to her children and is the proud mother of a Badminton Olympian.
